Kanda Bhajji- Pyaz Pakora

Onion Fritters also known as Onion Pakoda
Ingredients:
Onion- 1 large
For Batter
Chickpea flour (besan)- 1 cup
Corn Flour- 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Anardana powder- 1tsp
Cumin seeds (zeera)- 1 tsp
Asafoetida (hing)- pinch
Salt- to taste
Baking Soda- a pinch
Coriander (chopped)- 4 tbsp
Green Chilli (chopped)- 3
Water- as required
Red food color- a pinch
For Frying:
Oil- as per needed
 
Method:
  1. Combine and mix all the ingredients for the batter well, and dip onion in.
                                  Tip: the batter should not be very thick or thin
  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry on medium heat until each side is golden-ish brown and crunchy. Use a slotted metal spoon to transfer fried onion to paper towels.
  2. Garnish onion with some black salt and cumin powder on top when they are still hot. (Best served hot with Ketchup.)
