Shish Taouk


Skinless, boneless, chicken breast-2 lbs (Kabab chunks-cut into 2 inch cubes)
Yogurt- 1/4 cup
Garlic and ginger paste- 2 tbsp
Lemon juice- 4 tbsp
Olive oil- 4tbsp
Apple-Cider Vinegar- 2 tbsp
Thyme (or Ground oregano)- 1 tbsp
Ground black pepper- 2 tbsp
Allspice- 1 tsp
Cardamom- 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon- 1/2 tsp
Onions (large chunks, Kabab size)-2 large
Tomatoes (large chunks, Kabab size)- 3 large
Salt- as per required
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Green bell pepper (large chunks, Kabab size)- 1 large
Red food color- a pinch (for chicken)


  1. In a suitable container, Combine: Chicken chunks, yogurt, garlic and ginger paste, lemon juice, olive oil, apple-cider vinegar, thyme, ground black pepper, allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, salt, chilli powder, red food color. Marinate for at least 3-4 hours.
  2. Thread the chicken, onions, tomatoes, and bell pepper onto skewers.
  3. Fry in a suitable pan, until the chicken is golden and cooked.
  4. Dish-out, and Garnish your plate… ENJOY… :)
