Besan Ki Burfi or Chickpea Flour Fudge
Besan Ki Burfi- also known as Chickpea Flour Fudge. “Besan Ki Burfi” is a very famous Mouth-watering Dessert from Southern Asia. Besan Ki Burfi is made out of Chickpea Flour/Gram Flour, Semolina, Sugar, Ghee/Butter. Cardamon Seeds, Saffron, and Lots of Nuts (Almonds, Pistachio’s, Coconut Flakes).
The best part about these Besan Ki Burfi (Chickpea Flour Fudge) is that they are a Fun, Simple 20 mins Microwavable Dish. Who knew making Besan Ki Burfi was so Easy and Fun to cook; without any mess! Cooking just got simpler and easier thanks to the Microwave…lol! When making Besan Ki Burfi on the stove top, it can get a bit difficult to mange your dessert: Cleaning the splashes made, hand gets tried, heat to hot on the face… and the list goes on. Specially if you have six million things to do. But now, nothing should stop you from making your Fabulous Besan Ki Burfi! All you need is a microwave, and you are minutes away from winning HEARTS!
Caution while Microwave Cooking Besan Ki Burfi (for Safety):
- After every 2 minute interval, you have to remove the bowl, and stir for at-least 1 min.
- Before removing the lid of the bowl, take caution. It may be hot. Don’t worry: just wear oven hand mitt.

How to make Easy and Quick Microwave Besan Ki Burfi within minutes?
- Besan Flour (Gram Flour)- 1 cups
- Semolina (Suji)- 1/4 cup
- Sugar- 1 cup (as per taste)
- Water- 1 cup
- Ghee/Butter- 1/2 cup
- Cardamom seeds- 1 tsp
- Saffron- a pinch
- Nuts (Almonds. Pistachios, Coconut flakes)- 1/2 cup
- In a microwavable bowl, add: besan flour, butter/ghee and microwave them for two minutes.
- Mix the contents and add in cardamom seeds, semolina, saffron. Microwave for six minutes, and in each two minute interval mix the contents well (rub against palms).
- Add in 1/4 cup of nuts and sugar; Microwave it for 4 minutes, and in each two minute interval mix the contents well.
- Pour in water, mix and microwave it again for two minutes.
- The color of the chickpea fudge depends on your taste.
- For a darker color (which I did) keep on microwaving the sweet (giving a interval of two minute pause to mix the contents well).
- Dish-out on a pan sprayed dish. Shape your sweet by pressing with a spatula and garnish with your remaining nuts on top.
- Place it aside to cool, and cut into fudge size pieces… Enjoy…:)
